Jagmohan Dalmiya: The Trailblazer
Jagmohan Dalmiya, former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was the first Indian to become ICC President. Elected unanimously in 1997, Dalmiya held the position for three years. His tenure marked a significant milestone as he was the first Asian and non-cricketer to lead the ICC. During his presidency, Dalmiya was instrumental in granting Test status to Bangladesh and played a key role in their successful bid to host the ICC Knockout Trophy in 1998.
