The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm at VMV Commerce, JMT Arts, and JJP Science College, Nagpur, where Dr. Ketan Mohitkar was invited as the Chief Guest. The celebration was marked by a patriotic spirit, inspiring addresses, and the inauguration of a vibrant arts exhibition.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Yogeshbhai Patel, President of Shri Nagpur Gujarati Mandal; Col. Vikas C. Sharma, Commander of 20 Maharashtra Battalion, National Student Army, Nagpur; Adv. Narendrabhai Jha, Vice President of Shri Nagpur Gujarati Mandal; and Dr. Abhay Mudgal, Principal of VMV College.
On his arrival, Dr. Mohitkar was warmly received by the college management and committee members. The program commenced with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, performed by Dr. Mohitkar along with other dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

As a mark of honor, Dr. Mohitkar was felicitated by the college authorities for his contribution in the field of education and technology. He also performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Arts Exhibition, organized by the Arts Department, which showcased the creativity and talent of students.
In his keynote address, Dr. Mohitkar expressed his pride in being invited as the Chief Guest and shared that returning to a college environment reminded him of his own student days. He emphasized the importance of India’s education system, remarking that it is not only about knowledge but also about wisdom, values, and vision. He highlighted the National Education Policy (NEP) as a transformative step towards holistic development and multidisciplinary learning, preparing students to face future challenges.

Dr. Mohitkar encouraged students to live by guiding principles: never stop learning, serve society with knowledge, build education on strong values, and blend tradition with modernity to thrive in life.
The program concluded with cultural performances and expressions of gratitude from the college authorities, who thanked Dr. Mohitkar for his motivating words and inspiring presence.
