Aishwarya Rai has once again captivated the Indian internet with her latest appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Gracing the premiere of The History of Sound, she turned heads in a stunning white Manish Malhotra saree paired with bold ruby necklaces. With striking red sindoor and a majestic trailing train, Aishwarya evoked memories of her own iconic past looks — leaving fans in awe once more.

Several fashion and Bollywood pages actively posted Aishwarya’s red carpet photos and videos on social media overnight, including the anonymous fashion watchdog, Diet Sabya. They fittingly declared, “She stopped the Martinez in its tracks—no one blinked. Waiters dropped trays, champagne froze mid-bubble, and girls in vintage Gaultier turned to look. The girlies and the gays instantly knew.”

Paro Returns in 2025?

And everyone instantly recognized that ‘mother’ was truly embracing her role. The comments section overflowed with enthusiastic reactions for the ‘OG Queen of Cannes.’ One person perfectly captured Aishwarya’s regal walk through the hotel lobby by comparing it to “me entering my sasural dining table after waking up at lunch time,” bringing their own everyday moment to life.

A fan praised the ‘most beautiful woman in the world,’ saying, “Uffff! The face card never declined 1000/10.” Another predicted, “Brace yourself—to see MILs and bhabhis rocking gandi copies of this look next shaadi season.”

Many comments shared a common thought: Aishwarya was recreating her iconic Paro look from Devdas with a 2025 twist. Fans noticed the sindoor, saree with golden border, heavy jewelry, and bold makeup all evoked Paro’s ‘thakurain era.’

Fans showered Aishwarya with praise, referencing iconic lines and moments from Devdas. They called her “Bade ghar ki thakurayan” and “the only chaand who has no daag.” Some even imagined new storylines inspired by her look. One idea was “Paro after divorcing rich old Thakur.” In this alternate ending, Paro, played by Aishwarya, falls for a rich man’s son. When his family rejects her, she is forced into marriage with an even wealthier older man.
