Nagpur, July 5, 2025 – In a remarkable stride toward strengthening Vidarbha’s innovation ecosystem, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the Indian Council for Technical Research and Development (ICTRD) Secretariat Building and Incubation Centre at Adarsh Nagar Ground, Nagpur. The inauguration marks a significant milestone in fostering grassroots innovation, youth empowerment, and self-reliant regional growth.

A Vision for a Self-Reliant Vidarbha
In his keynote speech, Nitin Gadkari emphasized the growing need to transform India’s youth into job creators rather than job seekers. He praised ICTRD’s efforts in innovation-led development through practical initiatives such as electric tractors, drone-assisted farming, and the commercialization of organic produce. Gadkari highlighted Vidarbha’s potential to become a national model of sustainable development and announced future projects, including a proposed Global University of Logistics and Skill Development in Butibori and strengthening of the orange economy.
