Indian Army Foils Pakistan’s Drone Attacks

On Friday, the Indian Army announced that it had delivered a strong response to a series of coordinated assaults by the Pakistan Armed Forces along the western border, including the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir during the night of May 8-9. The Army confirmed that the drone attacks were successfully thwarted.

In its official statement, the Army reported that Pakistan carried out several drone strikes and employed other weapons along the entire western border. Besides the aerial attacks, Pakistani forces also committed multiple ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the LoC.

Indian Army Repels Drone Strikes, Responds Strongly to Ceasefire Violations

“OPERATION SINDOOR. Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous cease fire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army effectively repulsed the drone attacks and gave a befitting reply to the ceasefire violations. It remains committed to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will respond with force to all nefarious designs, the statement on X said.

The Indian Army also released a video showing the destruction of a Pakistani post in airstrikes carried out across the Line of Control.

India Delivers Strong Retaliation to Cross-Border Attacks, Neutralises Drone Threats

Though the Army has not disclosed the exact sector targeted, the footage highlights how India responded strongly and in a calibrated manner to the ongoing ceasefire violations.

The developments followed the precise missile strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces on nine terror targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan early Wednesday under Operation Sindoor, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The Ministry of Defence on Thursday reiterated that any attack on military sites in India will invite a “suitable response”.

In a late night statement on Thursday, the defence ministry said, “Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin #drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today.”

The forces swiftly neutralised the threats using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities, following established standard operating procedures (SOPs). They reported no casualties or material losses. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people,” it said.
